2. ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Criteria

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Science or Arts.

5. REGISTRATION PROCESS

To register for the US CPA exam, candidates must create an account on the Uniform CPA Examination website and apply. A registration fee needs to be paid.

7. EXAM PATTERN

The US CPA exam is computer-based and consists of four sections: Business Environment and Concepts (BEC), Auditing and Attestation (AUD), Regulation (REG), and Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR). Candidates are given sixteen hours to take the test, i.e., four hours to complete each section. The AUD, FAR, and REG exams consist of multiple-choice (MCQs) and task-based simulations (TBSs). The BEC exam consists of MCQs, written communication, and research tasks. Every section offers questions in a series of subsections called testlets. Each exam section has five testlets.
